I have this fluffy headcanon that one of the few times Eridan ever went in the water was during a game of hide-and-seek with Feferi. Unfortunately for him she was really good at hiding (i.e. more familiar w/ the sea) so he actually got worried for real and started searching for her frantically. She stayed hidden cuz she thought it was cute seeing him get all flustered. :3 This whole incident is actually part of the reason he avoids being in the water. Bad memories. eue
