For anyone who doesn’t feel like watching the video/reading elsewhere I took some notes:

according to the NOAA the red area is on a severe thunderstorm watch until basically tomorrow and the purple area is on a tornado watch

according to The Weather Channel, Southern Michigan has a 50% chance of tornadoes within a 50-mile radius, Kentucky/Tennesee has a 40% chance, and Illinois and Indiana have a 90% chance of tornadoes

of course right now (it’s about 1:30pm EST as I’m writing this) I’ve only found information that says it’s a tornado/thunderstorm watch—a watch is an alert that the conditions are right for the specified weather to happen. But I’d probably be checking back every now and then anyways to see if any of it updates to a warning—an alert that the specified weather is imminent dear god get indoors stay away from windows etc etc

though regardless it’d probably be a good thing to charge your electronics as soon as possible anyways in the event of a power outage
