oh my god the statue on the left is not the original statue of liberty. it is, in fact, a statue named “lady liberty,” but it was created for the carribean island of st. maartin in honor of the anniversary of the emancipation of slavery. it was unveiled in 2007…years and years after the unveiling of our statue of liberty. the statue of liberty is not supposed to have any specific color of skin. she’s just supposed to represent liberty, for fuck’s sake. if you don’t believe me you can look here and here
